HangoutMagix is a free studio for the graphics people need on camera: virtual backgrounds for Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, and transparent name tags and lower thirds for live streams. It's built and written by the HangoutMagix Team, a small group that spends a lot of the week in video calls ourselves.
What you can do here
- Design a 1920 x 1080 virtual background with your own colors, text and logo in the studio.
- Make a name tag or lower third and download it as a transparent PNG, either full frame for streaming software or trimmed to the tag.
- Download one of the ready-made backgrounds.
- Read the guides on uploading backgrounds, lighting and framing, and what happened to Google Hangouts.
How it works
Everything happens in your browser. The studio draws your graphics on an HTML canvas, and the download button saves the result straight to your device. We don't receive your text, your logo or your files, and there's no account to create.
The ready-made backgrounds are drawn by our own build script, so they're original and free to use for meetings, classes and streams, personal or commercial. Please don't resell them or republish them as a download pack.
The name and the domain
The original HangoutMagix, years ago, made graphics for Google Hangouts On Air. Hangouts and Hangouts On Air have since been retired by Google; our guide on what happened to Google Hangouts has the timeline.
hangoutmagix.com was relaunched in 2026 under new, independent management. The current site has no connection to earlier owners of the domain, and none of the old site's content or code was reused.
Not affiliated
HangoutMagix is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google, Zoom or Microsoft. Google Meet, Google Hangouts, Zoom and Microsoft Teams are trademarks of their owners, mentioned here only to explain where our graphics can be used.
